So, as the faithful of you who still occasionally check this page, and you random wanderers who stumbled across this page, I'm actually back! Mind you, it is getting to be the last third of the spring semester, so a lot of the stuff I'm going to be putting up is more than likely going to pertain to my website and other school projects. Right now I'm doing a bunch of sketches in an effort to increase my arts skills to the point that they can be published with my stories. We'll see how that works... I think I've still got a ways to go.
But anyhow, expect to see more random picture dumps on days I have the chance to upload them. Or when I just say screw it to homework and go have fun with something else :D

Hi all!  Sorry to suddenly up and ditch my account.  Summer ended up being a bit more hectic than originally anticipated.  However, the good thing about summer is having two jobs, which means... I finally got enough extra money to procure a new computer and tablet!  So, what does this mean for al of you, my wonderful watchers.  Two words: Digital Art.
The first piece will be going up in a few minutes, just a random little sketch I did while adjusting to drawing and coloring on a tablet. Otherwise, keep an eye out over the next few days, I have a bit of a beast that I'm working on coloring right now.  We'll see how it turns out.
Thanks for your eternal patience, and I look forward to giving you all new art!

I wish. Seriously, if life were any busier, I would be dead from running circles around myself. I've got a couple of new projects, and I'm trying to get my paws on a tablet for a decent price, which can be rather difficult, as wacom is a very expensive brand name.  I've mainly been working on book stuff in my limited spare time (and when I need a break from writing my 10 page music history paper).  I'm looking forward to a month from today when I get to fly out and visit my dad, I need a vacation. I've got a website up for a novel in progress windsoftwilight.webs.com . So far, I've managed to keep up partially with the work, however, I'm probably going to have to take a break for this weekend because of wanting to pass my music history class.
Some stuff to come in the near future, I just need to get the time to actually make it look decent in Gimp.

I'm sorry I haven't really been doing much. Black Star is a bout the only good thing I've come out with recently, the rest of my life has pretty much been devoted to 20th Century Music History, which is 3 credits of hell (when you have 30 percent of your grade due in 2 consecutive class periods, life is difficult). But, there is good news. This week is spring break, so after I watch my new episode of house, I'm going to force myself to abandon the internet (gasp) in favor of working on Winds.  Winds is a special lil' old project that has been marinating for quite a while, and is finally, FINALLY going to start up. I'll be putting up links, I just have to wait until I present the first portion of it at the Sigma Tau Delta National Convention, which is the week after spring break.  So, keep your eyes peeled for not only artwork (which I have miraculously gained the ability to draw not only humans, but humans who can be told apart! and that don't all look like bishie guys --; )
Okay, I won't spoil the surprise for the 3.24 people who will actually read this journal, but if everything works out, this year is gonna take a turn for the better.
Oh, and I'm sick again, so my planned saturday of biking just got changed to monday (especially since I just slept for 13.5 hours straight through.  this was the first day I didn't have to wake up to an alarm that I could go to bed early in over 2 weeks).  bleh.  I guess this just forces me to work on what I should be doing.
Keep watching! (I love the unheard emoticon, lol)

If life is a road, its currently under construction.  Too many things going on with classes, work, and extracurriculars.  Leave us just say that free time does not exist, than and its winter, so I'm having to deal with car troubles from a very, very old car (my car is older than me.... by about 4 years...)  But, yeah, I've got some stuff I can put up soon, depending upon how much work my professors want to give me, and how soon the snow clears up so that I can start biking again (I really miss biking)
Meep.

Well, its a good thing that my parents don't have internet, or know my DA account, 'cause I'm gonna be putting up pics from my latest super duper psycho insane project (and a scarf.  When I finish it).  Sorry I haven't been on lately, or uploaded stuff, school has been nuts and I've been writing double time.  I'll probably get to put some sketch doodly things up next week, along with the sketch for Project SDPIP (...I'll let you guys figure that one out.)
And I'll put up pics of a painting I did for a class project, as soon as I get them back.

I'm bad.  I keep buying bettas... I now have 4 in my apartment.  The good news is that they all keep me company when I do my homework at 2 in the morning, lol.  So far as deviations go, well, the only stuff I've done recently is a lot of boredom sketches in class.  Other than that, no time (marching band killed all of my free time.  I'm only working about 1 shift a week.  Not good :( even though band is awesome).  So, as a filler, I put up a pic of Felix, my eldest betta fishie.  Yeah, I'm obsessed, but this is the first time in my life I've been able to actually own pets, and these are the only pets you can have in a pet-free home.  Meh.  Bettas Rule.  Felix is a veil tail betta, Akira is a delta tail, Janus is a male Crowntail, and Borealis is a female Crowntail.  I'll probably get some pics of the other three up eventually.
Yay.

Woo!  Sorry, life is busy and kinda sucks these days (music auditions at the university, that should say everything).  I'll be honest, I haven't really gotten anything done recently (I'm now marching, which is a slight time commitment... and working, and school, and I'm gonna lose my sanity before the end of the semester).
Keep your fingers crossed, I should have some stuff up soon, including a thanks for 1000 pageviews :) )
Thanks for sticking with me!

First off, new stuff on the way, I promise!  Ok, you've all heard that 1500 times, but unfortunately a lot of the stuff I did this summer is book/story oriented, aka, I have to viciously guard with my life.  But, onto what I did with my summer.
Well, I work at a Petco, which is absolutely awesome because you get to work with soooooo many cool, bitey animals.  *Note: there is a reason all petstore workers hate hamsters.  Guess what bites you the most?  So, anyhow, I will assume that most of you reading this know what a Betta is (fishie, not Beta rays, Beta math stuff, etc).  Well, when I moved out, I bought my first Betta.  His name is Felix (its actually a bit longer, this is the short version :) )  So, today, I adopted a poor fellow who managed to survive being housed with another male for a few days.  This meant that I had to make a decision... how far to let Betta mania go.  Now, most of the time Bettas are kept in small bowls, usually a gallon or less.  I won't house mine in anything smaller because this allows you to add stuff to it (plants, figurines, etc) making a very happy fishie.  I decided today that instead of buying another gallon fishbowl, I would get a 10 gallon tank.  So, I got the setup (tank, gravel, plants, glow in the dark rocks, etc) and have a co-worker who is going to bring in her Betta because she is trying to get rid of all of her fish.  This means a total of 3 Bettas.  So, I must admit, I feel justified in a 10 gallon behemoth.  It's gonna look cool, and I bought the store out of glow-in-the dark accent stones, and got another glow plant.  Yay!  Hence the reason I am still up at 2 in the morning, waiting for a website to stop maintenence so I can get in (ugh), and watching my now much-happier betta I adopted today swim around his enclousure.  Ten gallon tank has to wait till tomorrow, the water has to sit out and I want to make sure it doesn't leak :P cause that would really suck.
Anyhow, new stuff, soon.

So, yeah, that whole promise about summer being a great time to catch up with everything?... Not really.  First off, I moved out so that I actually live in the city that I used to constantly commute to. That was  a lot of work and took me a couple of weeks to get settled in.  But, now that I am no longer commuting to both work and school, shouldn't I have more time?  No.  Second, I'm currently working two part time jobs for around 40-60 hrs a week, biking (I actually have a tan before marching band :) )a ton, and when I'm not doing any of the above listed, I'm trying to get back into working on writing.  And drawing.  Unfortunately, due to the huge amount of art theft/tracing/every other thing under the sun, I will be unable to put up a lot of my stuff.  A lot of my characters are of my own design, done without refs, etc, etc, and seeing as how I am not published yet, I don't want to lose the rights to ANY of them.  However, there are a few stories that I will put up art for.  Its now just a matter of getting the stories done *goes off in corner and tries to figure out where time went*.  Um, so, I will be getting a pic up soon of a watercolor/pen/acrylic pic I did as a grad present.  Soon.  We'll be getting home internet soon.

Agh!  I'm so sorry, here I am promising I'll get stuff up, and I decide to go take a vacation in Idaho! ...this does mean that I should be getting some nice shots of Birds of Prey, though, since the Snake River reservation is up here...and I may be able to put them up...after I get back home and move out into my new house!  yay, life never gets any slower.  Ugh.  Well, suffice to say that hopefully soon I will have some new artistic stuff up, I'm trying not to work on my writing 24/7...or play final fantasy tactics, War of the Lions continuously...
I love summer, especially when you don't have to worry about school :)
still open for trades, commissions, etc, note me if interested
(I'll have an example of a commission up soon, if my brother ever gets me the pics I took of it.  my camera ran out of batteries :'( )

Seriously, I'm quite sick of winter. We just got rid of our snow yesterday, and on Monday we had a blizzard.  Its APRIL.  Mother Nature's not been very nice to us this year... anyhow, more stuff up soon, I just got a new sketchbook, and finals are gonna be over in 2 weeks (no we don't have 2 weeks worth of finals, one week of classes left then finals).  After that, I will be opening up for comissions/art trades.  If anyone is interested, I would be glad to chat/get email (new address just set up!) at wolfoffallensshadows.live.com (note the double s).

Alright, so if you've seen any of my new deviations, you've probably noticed a bit about this story I'm calling "Autumn Leaves are Falling".  I do have a Fiction Press account under Sathar Ricale: link here~ www.fictionpress.com/~satharri… .  I have one piece of unfinished short fiction up now, and will be adding hopefully the first few chapters of "Autumn Leaves are Falling" pretty soon.
Thanks for all of your pageviews and support!
I really appreciate all of it!
urm... by the way, I am sorry about all of the watermarks and stuff for protecting the copyright info.  I know it'll probably get redundant after a while....

...the sun.  I actually just pulled my first ever school-induced all-nighter.  I think I'm gonna pass out on my clarinet.  In Wind Symphony.  Don't ask me how that's gonna work, although I did nearly fall asleep back in high school on my tenor sax, but that is much more pillowlike.  Clarinet=stick.
Ugh, and I have performance class on wednesday.  and a composition due.  and sectional tomorrow at 7 am.  and babysit tonight.  and poem tomorrow.  class from 11-3 today.  I wanna go home and crawl up in a corner.

I missed the English Dept's semesterly meeting allowing me to pre-register for a class, so I can't get into the main class I was planning on.  Now I can't bloody get into Conducting because I didn't pass my proficiency yet!
*Grabs hair and pulls*
I'm going crazy...
Oh well, enough ranting.  I'll have some stuff up next week, please bear with me through the end-o'-semester crisis, which includes the 10 page music history paper (clarinet concert in a maj.  Mozart) 5-7 page English paper (Remains of the Day) Composition project (clarinet and Piano) Performance Class (Raga Music)... I'm probably forgetting something.
Yay.
Anyhow, new stuff, soon.

So, in most places throughout the world, spring has already come.  In the Midwest, however, Mother Nature has this teensy-weensy idea of a joke...lets send a blizzard on April 10th!  Haha, very funny.
Hargh...
In other news, I'll have some stuff to put up next week after I get some work done on my Music History Paper (Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A Major *grins*).
Other than that, enjoy spring where you find it.

and the nights they are so dreary.  So, thanks to everyone who has been looking in on my little page.  In less than a month, I've gotten 50 more pageviews!  (this is a personal record)
I've got a couple of pics that I managed to misplace in my room (For those of you who don't know me offline, this is a bad, bad thing), so I don't know precisely when I'll be able to find them to put them online.  Sigh.  Anyhow, busy as usual.  I should actually be getting some more stuff online soon.  If there is anyone interested in reading some random fantasy stories, check out www.fictionpress.com/~satharri… .  I've only got one story up, but I do in fact have a habit of not losing my typed stories :)
Thanks for all of the support!
I learned a very, very hard lesson last night.  I had decided to stay at the university to do some extra homework and go to a Nation Band Association meeting.  So, being the excessively naive and trusting person that I am, I decided to go to the local Aldi store and pick up something to eat.  I was originally going to go with my normal standby of off-brand pop tarts when, what did I behold? A delightful frozen dinner of a delicious Salisbury Steak smothered in gravy with a side of mashed potatoes and corn!
Some days I am an idiot in the first degree.
So, what did I do?  I put away my at least semi-healthy pop tarts and picked up my sparkly new tv dinner.  I got back to school, got it warmed, and dug in!
15 minutes later, after I had forced the last of the horrendously disgusting processed meat product down my throat, I felt both sick to my stomach and completely grossed out.
What did I learn?  You can never buy a Salisbury Steak dinner for 89 cents.  Especially not a charbroiled one.
BTW, we leave for tour tomorrow, so I should maybe have some time to work on some stuff.  Yay!
